What is Eastside Like?

WHAT IS EASTSIDE LIKE?

You will find all kinds of people at Eastside- because all sorts of people are welcome here! No one should feel any less welcome because of their language, color, heritage, previous churches, friends or the way they dress, look or act. Everyone is loved by God, and by our church. Come find the best welcome you've ever had to God's love and life together in the Kingdom!

You are welcome to come however you dress- we have people in suits and people in jeans in our services. Many of our adult women wear dress pants or dresses, and our men wear slacks, shirts and some sweaters and coats.

Once you come in our front door, nursery and Toddler/Kindergarten rooms, as well as the restrooms and kitchen (free coffee in the morning!), are to the left. We have wonderful child care for children not in school each Sunday. Carol Smith is our toddler teacher, and now has children whose parents came through our nursery!

Our services start at 10:45 (come at 10:30 and get settled in!), and are "blended"- that is, we have a mix of newer praise & worship music, older choruses and ancient and recent hymns most weeks. We have hymnals, but most of our music and readings are projected on the wall. We stand some and sit some, but always let you know what's going on. We use video, drama and special music from time to time to help got God's message across, and Pastor Joe provides a scripture-based message on real life each week. We usually get out about 12- 12:15. On the last Sunday of the month, we follow that with dinner together and the month's birthday party at our church, and the first time you come, you are invited as our guest!

Our school-age children (1st-6th grade) join us for worship, then leave the sanctuary for a worship, learning and fun time for kids.
